New Zealand's Ev " E.T" Ting has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting lightweight fighters in ONE Championship. The Malaysian-born Kiwi has competed for the Singapore-based promotion since 2014, and throughout his time at ONE has had several memorable bouts.
One of Ting's most heart-pumping encounters took place last July, against former UFC welterweight Daichi Abe at ONE: Masters of Destiny in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Ting came into this bout riding a two-fight losing streak, and the pressure was on the hometown hero to make a return to the winner's circle. In Abe, "E.T" was facing off against a fighter used to competing as a welterweight but who, after losing his ONE debut, decided to make the switch to lightweight.
At the sound of the opening bell, both fighters exploded out of the blocks and never looked back. The bout may not have been the main event, but when the lights came up at the end of the night, there was only one fight that the crowd was talking about on their way home.
