New Zealand's John " Trouble " Brewin has made a name for himself as one to watch in BRAVE CF's lightweight division.
Brewin made his promotional debut at BRAVE CF 12 in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he scored a second-round TKO win over England's Hardeep Rai, who was unbeaten at the time.
Since then, Brewin's career with the Bahrain-based company has gone from strength to strength, and he is now positioning himself for a shot at the BRAVE lightweight strap.
Until the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic forced the event's postponement, Brewin was preparing to take on England's Sam Patterson in the main event of BRAVE CF 36 in Bucharest, Romania.
It was to have been Brewin's second straight headline slot demonstrating the high level of regard the BRAVE matchmakers have for the Auckland-based fighter.
Brewin was coming into his bout with Patterson following an impressive performance over Poland's Maciek"Magic Man" Gierszewsk. Brewin and Gierszewsk had faced off against one another in the main event of BRAVE CF 28, last November, which saw BRAVE CF making their first foray into the Romanian market.
Before signing with BRAVE CF, Gierszewsk had fought under multiple MMA promotions, including Bellator and Cage Warriors. A known knockout artist, "Magic Man," walked into the cage against Brewin full of confidence after stopping Ireland's Cian Cowley in the second-round at BRAVE CF 24. Brewin was also coming into this fight on the back of a win over Cowley and the so the scene was set for an anticipated encounter between two of the rising stars of BRAVE's lightweight division.
BRAVE CF and New Zealand Fighter have teamed up to bring Brewin's bout with Gierszewsk to NZ fight fans.
