BRAVE CF is a relative newcomer on the global MMA scene, the Bahrain-based promotion only held its first show in 2016, but it has quickly become home to some of the world's most talented and entertaining fighters.
BRAVE's lightweight division, in particular, is stacked with knockout artists, submission specialists, and some of the promotions most charismatic figures.
Brazil's Cleiton Silva is the current lightweight king, but one man looking to relieve him of that title is New Zealand's John " Trouble " Brewin. After a successful promotional debut in 2018, Brewin's impressive performances have seen him edge ever closer to a tilt at the lightweight strap.
"Trouble" was due to headline April's BRAVE 36, against England's Sam Patterson, in a fight that would have been Brewin's second straight main event slot, however, the coronavirus pandemic caused the event's postponement.
While the delay is no doubt a source of frustration for the fighters involved, Kiwi fans can use this time to catch up on Brewin's previous fights that they may have missed out on.
BRAVE CF has teamed up with New Zealand Fighter to showcase Brewin's past two performances. Brewin's most recent outings have seen the Kiwi not only put the entire BRAVE lightweight division on notice but, more importantly, put Brewin within reach of a title fight.
The bout below sees Brewin taking on Ireland's Cian Cowley at BRAVE CF 22 in Manila, Philippines. Cowley is best known to MMA fans as Conor Mcgregor's stablemate at SBG. The Irishman arrived at BRAVE surrounded by hype and expectations, but in Brewin, Cowley faced off against an opponent ready for anything that was to come his way.
