2013 saw the King in the Ring middleweight division dominated by the now UFC fighter, Dan Hooker after 3 convincing wins in one night.
With Dan being contractually bound to the UFC, we're sending 2014 out with a bang as 8 new contenders step forward to claim the throne.
This is the third instalment of the 72kg division, and will see the top 8 in their weight come head to head in a survival series of three-round elimination bouts, with one goal in sight – to be the last man standing and the third 72kg King in the Ring.
November 8th at the ASB Stadium these fighters will square off under international K-1 rules, bringing together their own techniques born from kickboxing, boxing, muay thai, kung fu, kyokushin karate, and other martial arts.
As well as the main 8-man event, fight fans will see our top New Zealand fighters battle it out against our favourite rivals - the Australians.
