NZ Pro Muay Thai fighter goes head to head in Dubai’s KO6

Richie Nola

New Zealands own pro Muay Thai Fighter, Richie Nola is fighting in a 7 round heavywieght tag team kickboxing match with Thailand’s Atthador Pantong, on April 23rd, 2010, at Chi Garden, The Lodge, Dubai.

They will be fighting Mohammed Ali “The Stallion” Bayat and Simon Young, both from the KO Gym in an event that’s not commonly seen in New Zealand. Here, many can only imagine a scene where Kickboxers tag team in their fight. It should be an event well worth watching.

Richie Nola is trained by Phillip Lam, at City lee Gar in Auckland and now trains and fights out of Thailand.

KO Promotions launches KO6, its latest series of championship bouts with the world's most exciting fighters in what’s being called a non-stop Boxing and Muay Thai Extravaganza.

KO Promotions General Manager Zack Taumafai said that their goal is to offer UAE fight fans quality fight action from world-standard fighters on a regular basis. He believes that although the UAE has a thriving fight scene, the fighters lack the opportunities to take on quality opponents. The KO events are platforms that provide the fighters with a chance to test themselves, and fans a chance to watch world-class fights on home ground.

Topping the card are three of the Philippines' best boxers: Rey ‘Boom Boom’ Bautista, reigning WBO Intercontinental Super Bantamweight Champion; undefeated 22-year old Milan Melindo, ranked #1 in the World Boxing Organization standings; and the up and coming Hilario 'Bon Jovi' Canillas.

The event is co-sanctioned by the World Boxing Council and the World Kickboxing Federation.
