In a show of solidarity in the face of adversity, promoters Fight Entertainment Ltd brought together a group of top fighters from the North and South Islands to throw down on the canvas last Saturday, September 18; in spite of the rubble and ruin caused by the recent earthquake.
Filling out the Riccarton Club with eager fans, keen for some entertainment to take their minds off the city's devastation, local club Proactive Martial Arts (Riccarton) sent kickboxers into the ring against warriors from MTI Wellington, CC Muay Thai, Sitnarong Thai Boxing, Sit-Boon Tham Dunedin, and sister gym Proactive Papanui. The results? A novice and Amateur-laden night of Muay Thai and kickboxing action that cheered even the most despondent of Cantabrians.
