Parker vs Flores - Who's fighting and what time.

Parker vs Flores - Who's fighting and what time.

We’ll be bringing you action from all the fights this evening, but for now you might want to know who’s going to feature on this stacked undercard.

The undercard fights start from 7.30pm, with the main event not likely to kickoff until around 10pm. The full list of fights is below.

1st Fight
Heavyweight  (4x3 min rounds)
Sam Watt, NZ debut vs Alistair Boyd, NZ 1-2-3

Former two time national amateur champion Sam Watt makes his professional debut in the heavyweight division on the undercard tonight. He’ll be fighting 31 year old Alistair Boyd whose managed one win, two losses and three draws in the year and a half since he turned pro.

2nd fight
Middleweight (6x3 min rounds)
Andrei Mikhailovich, NZ 6-0 (4KO) vs  Adrian Taihia, NZ 15-4-2 (7KO)

Undefeated 20 year old Andrei Mikhailovich steps into the ring for his seventh professional fight. The Russian born fighter, who lives and fights out of Auckland, will be matching up against 36 year old Adrian “The Terrah” Taihia for six rounds of middleweight action. Adrian has managed 15 impressive wins with only 4 losses and 2 draws though he’s had a bad run lately with his last three fights all contributing to that loss record.

3rd Fight
NZ Women’s Welterweight Championship (6x2 min rounds)
Megyn McLennan, NZ vs Michaela Jenkins

Megyn McLennan matches up against former NZ Muay Thai Champion Michaela Jenkins. Although Jenkins is making her professional debut and McLennan has a record of just one loss, the lack of fighters in this category means this is for the NZ Women’s Welterweight Championship.

4th fight
Special Heavyweight Attraction (4x3 min rounds)
David ‘Brown Butterbean’ Letele, NZ vs Manu Vatuvei, NZ (pro debut)

One of the ones to watch, David Letele matches up against Manu “The Beast“ Vatuvei. Big Manu had a storied league career with the Warriors and is looking to make his pro boxing debut. Meanwhile Letele is returning to the ring after two years away. The former big man Letele has dropped over 100 kg’s to become a very popular fitness and life coach out of South Auckland. He wasn’t planning a return to the ring, but the call of the beast was too much for him.

5th fight
Cruiserweight (6x3 min rounds)
David Light, NZ 10-0 (7KO) vs Lance Bryant, NZ 12-4 (5KO)

Another one to watch. This fight sees 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medalist David Light face off against Lance Bryant. If you don’t know who David Light is, then you soon will as he looks to continue his unbeaten record since turning pro just over a year ago. 38 year old Bryant steps into the ring against the young man with a record of 12 wins and just 4 losses, though smart money says it’ll be 5 tomorrow morning.

UNDERCARD
6th TV fight
PRO Box Pacific Welterweight Championship (10x3 min rounds)
Bowyn Morgan, NZ 18-1 (8KO) vs Sebastian "Sniper" Singh, Fiji 11-2-1 (7KO)

The main undercard is going to be an interesting one as home town hero Bowyn Morgan takes on Sebastian Singh. Singh weighed in overweight so only Morgan will be eligible for the welterweight title on offer.

MAIN UNDERCARD
Heavyweight Contest - WBO Interim Oriental Heavyweight title fight (10x3 min rounds)
Junior Fa, NZ  15-0 (8KO) vs Rogelio Omar Rossi, ARG 20-6-1 (13KO)

Big Junior Fa, who twice beat Joe Parker as an amateur, is back in the ring against Rossi for 10 rounds of heavyweight boxing. Junior should easily get past Rossi, who hasn’t fought in over a year, to retain his interim WBO title.

MAIN EVENT
International Heavyweight Contest (12x3 min rounds)
Joseph Parker, NZ 24-2 (18KO) vs Alexander Flores, USA 17-1-1 (15KO)

The one we’ve all been waiting for, Joe Parker vs Alexander “the great” Flores. Flores is looking to be the first Mexican heavyweight champion of the world, he’s got a long way to go but if he could get a win against Joe tonight it’d certainly set him on the right track. Parker is bouncing back from 2 losses to the UK’s (and some would say the world’s) best heavyweights. This one should be a tune up match but, you never know. Joe’s looking a lot stronger and a lot fitter. Don’t miss the main event for 12 rounds of heavyweight boxing action.
